Christian Holst: BLOOD/STONES: Burmese Rubies, photo exhibition, 2012

BLOOD/STONES includes recent photography in video and print by Christian Holst who has traveled extensively through the country and its borders to provide an intimate look at the impact of natural resource exploitation on Burma’s 50 million citizens.

Newtopia: The state of Human Rights, group exhibition, 2012

Newtopia is a major, international contemporary art exhibition in Mechelen (Belgium) dedicated to human rights. The exhibition will build on the long relationship between art and human rights and aims to explore the numerous and complex questions associated with the issue. It will chart the development of the human rights movement and its evolving discourse.

CONGO/WOMEN, photo exhibition, 2009

Featuring the work of Lynsey Addario, Marcus Bleasdale, Ron Haviv, and James Nachtwey, the installation weaves together large portraits of Congolose women and contextual images of the region’s culture and history along with explanatory essays. The result of this combination is a touring project which depicts the complexity of the situation and incites viewers to act.

DARFUR/DARFUR, photo exhibition, 2006

The DARFUR/DARFUR exhibition was created to depict the crisis that has made these numbers a reality. Through a series of multi-panel, exterior, wall-sized projections, DARFUR/DARFUR places the brutal realities faced in Darfur in context with the region’s vibrant culture and people. The human face of the continuing atrocities persists in inciting international support for the prevention of further destruction of life. DARFUR/DARFUR features the photography of Lynsey Addario, Marcus Bleasdale, Mark Brecke, Helene Caux, Ron Haviv, James Nachtwey, Paolo Pellegrin, Michal Ronnen Safdie, Ryan Spencer Reed and Brian Steidle.
