An online self-paced course for teachers, educators and youth workers!
In 2015, the United Nations created a new set of 17 goals known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals were created in an attempt to affront the root causes of poverty and unite the global community to make a positive change for our environment. Throughout this course, you will learn about the history leading up to the creation of the SDGs, as well as Malta’s role in their implementation. Additionally, the course concludes with tips on how to implement these goals in the classroom, no matter what subject.
As teachers, you can teach issues and challenges relating to development to your students, spread awareness of the challenges we face across the world, and what we all can to do to move towards a sustainable, safe, and prosperous life for all.

- Know the history and transition from the Millennium Development Goals to the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Describe in depth the goals and their indicators
- Understand the SDGs in the Maltese context
- Discuss the various actors responsible for integrating the SDGs
- Integrate the themes and issues associated with the SDGs into teaching plans
